WSCPA Award Winners

President/CEO's Award – to recognize an individual (or organization) who has made a significant contribution to the success of the profession.

Current Winner: Roy Polley, CPA

Roy Polley was an accounting professor at the University of Puget Sound for many decades and has taught accounting courses to about 15,000 students.  Due to ill health, the WSCPA was pleased to bestow this honor, a bit early, to a very beloved member of the profession.

Pictured here with Roy (from left to right) are former accounting students (including his wife):  Michelle Gretsch, Bill Caddey, Cleveland Futch, Doug Collier and Linda Polley.

Update:  Members of the WSCPA Board of Directors members and staff are sad to report that Roy Polley passed away on May 15, 2010.  Those who were touched by Roy's teaching and mentoring over the years are encouraged by his family, in lieu of flowers, to make a donation to the Washington CPA Foundation.  Please mail (902 - 140th Ave. N.E., Bellevue, WA 98005) or call in your donation, (425) 644-4800 or (800) 272-8273, in memory of Roy.  Read more.
