New books, new shoes and new backpacks are ready to go for the upcoming school year.  Let’s add a fresh start on personal finances and new lessons on how to manage money.

Every year, CPAs volunteer their time in local schools and community based organizations to share their knowledge on personal finances. The WSCPA Financial Literacy Program is gearing up for another school year.  As a member, you have access to resources and presentation materials through the WSCPA website.  Requests from schools and organizations are posted on the website for your review.  If you find one that is a fit, take the plunge and sign up to make the presentation.  Or, you can create your own opportunity to share your knowledge.  WSCPA members have shared information at their workplaces, afterschool programs, non-profits for which they volunteer, senior community centers, fairs and places of worship.  WSCPA staff members can assist you with finding the right materials.

Fall is here. So go ahead and take the necessary steps to help others make a fresh start with their personal finances. Make a difference for the future as you help provide children with the building blocks for financial success.
