Don't miss out on the last networking events of the year!

by Monette Anderson, WSCPA Academic Relations Coordinator | Oct 20, 2015
This year’s networking season has been a blast! With several great (sold-out) events including bowling at The Garage in May, beautiful exhibits at Chihuly Garden and Glass and sunset views from Carillon Point at our Annual Members Reception, I am sad to see our networking season coming to an end. There have been so many new faces and friends this year and it’s been great seeing so many of you take advantage of these opportunities to build strong networks as you are starting your careers. If you haven’t made it to an event this year, or you’ve been a regular attendee and don’t want the fun to end, we still have a few opportunities to join in. If you can’t make one of these, we look forward to seeing you in spring with several more networking opportunities hosted by your WSCPA chapters.

Pyramid Brewery:
October 22 | Seattle | 6:00 pm
End the networking season with a craft beer and pub grub. Our CPA Review partners have some enticing offers for students at this event:

  • Roger CPA Review will be raffling a full Platinum Scholarship for WSCPA student members ($1,695 value). If you’ve attended our other events this season you may have already entered, but you can enter again at this event.
  • Becker CPA Exam Review will be raffling 50% off the Becker course.
  • Yaeger CPA Review will have an opportunity to win a free CPA Review section.

Of course, reps from all these groups will be in attendance to answer your questions and give you more information on their courses and their best study tips as well. We have just a handful of spots available, so register now! (Must be 21 and over)

Leadership Lens Events:
Seattle Breakfast: Speak Sport. Talk Business—November 12 | Renaissance Seattle Hotel | 8:00 am
Spokane Lunch: Leadership Lens Lunch—November 17 | DoubleTree Hotel Spokane City Center | 11:00 am

Sports broadcasting veteran Jen Mueller will join us over breakfast in Seattle and lunch in Spokane to discuss how you can use sports talk and fandom as a business development strategy, as well as how to identify and bridge communication gaps using just 15-second conversations. Discounted rate for students at $20. There are two locations and times, so don’t miss this engaging presentation!

Professional Updates: Don’t be left in the dark when it comes to professional issues. Increase your CPA aptitude and gain some new talking points for recruiting season and networking. We’re making it easy for you with a high level overview of what you may have missed and what’s on the horizon. Rich Jones, WSCPA President and CEO, will bring you up to speed and address major issues including proposed changes to the CPA exam. Find a Professional Update meeting hosted by your chapter here.
