The Washington CPA Foundation is pleased to offer over $200,000 in scholarships to accounting students attending an accredited college or university in the state of Washington. Eligibility Requirements

  • Be entering junior year or higher in fall 2016; fifth year, masters and PhD candidates as well as community college transfers are encouraged to apply
  • GPA minimum of 3.0 (or equivalent) in accounting courses and overall
  • Involvement in on-campus, off-campus or community activities
  • Provide two letter of recommendation
  • Submit copies of transcripts from any colleges attended

You may log in and update your account as often as you want up to the deadline on February 16th 2016 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Start early and remember, recommendation letters can take some time so give your references plenty of notice.

Scholarship Guidelines

  • Students transferring from a community college to 4 year college or university accredited in Washington State are eligible for scholarships
  • Fifth year, graduate and PhD accounting students attending a college or university that is accredited in Washington State are eligible for scholarships
  • Past scholarship recipients may re-apply

Amount and Duration of Scholarships

  • Scholarships are $5,000
  • Scholarships are non-renewable and are for tuition only
  • Scholarships are paid directly to the accredited college or university listed on application
  • Scholarships are awarded only to individuals attending an accredited college or university in Washington State
  • Responsibility for ensuring that the monies can be used for the semester/quarter/year granted lies solely with the student

What you will need:

  • Unofficial transcripts from the college or university you currently attend and any that you attended previously
  • Email addresses for two professors, mentors or supervisors who will provide a reference for you
  • Current resume that includes any internships (paid or unpaid), jobs, awards, volunteer positions or leadership roles on campus or in the community
  • Two essays of 500 words or less. The questions can be found at the end of the scholarship application.
