President Trump has signed the coronavirus relief legislation. Treasury and the SBA now have ten days to issue guidance for how eligible organizations can apply for PPP2.

-------

Congress passed a new round of COVID stimulus legislation on Monday night, December 21. The package of over $900 billion still awaits President Trump's signature. The legislation includes tax deductibility and another round of PPP dubbed PPP2.

  • Within PPP2 there are different rules for those who are first-time borrowers and those who received loans in the first round.
  • There is more than $325 billion in aid for small businesses. $12 billion specifically to help businesses in low-income and minority communities.
  • PPP2 will permit first-time borrowers from businesses with 500 or fewer employees that are eligible for other SBA 7(s) loans, sole proprietors, independent contractors, eligible self-employed individuals, and 501(c)(6) organizations.

What does this mean for you and your clients and how can you learn about everything included in this legislation? We have compiled a number of resources for CPAs, including articles, videos, and links to online forgiveness forms, as well as CPE opportunities.

Additional information will be added here as further details become available.
