DESCRIPTION: This session will discuss the risks associated with overcompensating employees in the nonprofit industry\, as well as best practices for setting reasonable employee compensation. The focus will be on executives and highly compensated employees\, but the principles apply to all employees. We’ll review the components of the “rebuttable presumption of reasonableness”\, including the compensation review process\, identifying and evaluating comparability data\, and documenting the process and outcome\, with a focus on how each nonprofit organization can protect itself\, its board members\, and its employees.
