Last year the WSCPA introduced an all-new member benefit: the WSCPA Passport Corporate card. Since then, many members have sent in great stories about the savings they’ve snagged by taking advantage of Passport’s various dining, shopping, and travel deals. Here are just a few of them:

“I am a big fan of the passport card. I’m in the process of interviewing people for a staff accountant position, and it really makes it much more practical to take someone out to lunch.” —Randall F.

“I would like to go on record with a big “Thank You!” for adding the Passport Card to the WSCPA Membership. This is a terrific added benefit. I’ve used Passport Dining for over 20 years, and I love it. Having it as a part of my WSCPA membership is a cool extra perk!” —Robin S.

“At first I did not think much about the passport card. Then at the beginning of the year, I was purchasing a new car and saw a Passport email promoting discounts on the car I wanted to purchase. The Passport discount beat the Costco discount! So I purchased my new car at a great price.” —Chris G.

Now, the WSCPA is proud to announce that the Passport card is about to get even better. As of August 31, the WSCPA Passport Corporate program has gone digital. This means that instead of using your plastic Passport card, you’ll use the Passport app on your smartphone to both find and claim deals at participating vendors. In addition to never having to worry about forgetting your card at home, you’ll also be able to share your card with your immediate family more easily. Going digital means that you can activate your membership on up to five different devices. Now your spouse, kids, or other loved ones can enjoy the same Passport savings you do!

How to Go Digital

Upgrading your account is simple. Just go to Passport’s website and log in. If you have not yet made an account, the website will prompt you to do so. After either logging in or creating your account click the “Update Now” button. Then, enter the upgrade code. You can find the upgrade code here after you log in.

Now that you’ve upgraded your account, all you have to do is activate your card on your smartphone and up to four other devices. To do that, download the Passport mobile app if you have not already done so. If you have already downloaded the app, make sure it is up to date. Then open the app and log in. Congratulations! You’re all set to start enjoying the benefits of your new, digital Passport card.

Using Your Passport Card

When you are at a location that accepts your Passport Corporate card, simply swipe (if you have an iPhone) or tap-and-hold (for Android or Windows phones) the location’s listing in the Passport mobile app to expose the “Redeem” option. Tap Redeem to display your digital card or generate a redemption code if you are at a Passport Dining restaurant.

You can also tap a listing to view the details of a business' offer. On the details screen, tap “Use My Card Here” to display your digital card or generate a redemption code.

At Passport Dining restaurants, the app will generate a redemption code. Write the redemption code and your card number at the top of your receipt prior to payment. At local merchants, the app will display a live, digital image of your card which should be presented to the merchant at the time of purchase.

To find nearby businesses that accept your digital card, tap “Use My Card” from the app menu. Then tap “Confirm” to display your digital card for the nearest location or “Other” to view additional locations.

Tell Us About Your Passport Adventures!

You are now ready to go out and enjoy your exclusive Passport dining, shopping, and travel deals. The WSCPA loves hearing about how you are using your card, so please share your savings stories with us on Facebook, Twitter, or in an email! Happy saving, and thank you for being a WSCPA member.
