CPA Community

As a WSCPA member, you are a part of a community of more than 8,000 members across the state. Connect with other professionals both within and outside your area of the profession through the many opportunities exclusively available to members: chapters, committees, and other volunteer opportunities. Explore the options to get involved and take advantage of all that your membership affords you.

“Leadership and professional development opportunities are plentiful on WSCPA committees, board service, chapter leadership and groups such as the New Professionals. Through your involvement, you will find enduring relationships -- and perhaps friendships – that carry forward throughout your career.”

-  Glenn Wisegarver, CPA, CGMA, WSCPA Chair for 2013-14

Chapters
Every member of the Washington Society of CPAs is automatically a member of one of the Society’s 10 chapters around the state.

Unsure which chapter you belong to? Want to change your preferred chapter? Go to MyWSCPA, login, and click My Chapters.

To connect with other CPAs in your community, get involved in your local chapter by:
  • Attending chapter meetings, which include a meal, time for networking and a brief CPE program;
  • Participating in chapter networking events, such as happy hours;
  • Visiting college campuses in your area to share the benefits of becoming a CPA with local college students; or
  • Joining your chapter board or a chapter committee to assist your chapter in planning these events and activities.

Committees
Your WSCPA Membership automatically entitles you to certain privileges, such as discounts on WSCPA-sponsored educational programs.  Being a member of the WSCPA also affords you the opportunity to serve on committees. Members who participate on WSCPA committees say they enjoy:
  • Interacting and building relationships with CPA colleagues;
  • Improving their skills and exchanging information; and
  • Helping protect and shape the profession through advocacy to regulatory and legislative bodies.
