Overdose Prevention Nonprofit: One-Time Accounting Volunteer Opportunity

The Overdose Prevention Collective (OPC) is a small Seattle-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preventing drug-related overdose.

We are seeking a volunteer accountant for a one-time project expected to take approximately 1–2 hours.

As part of a grant award, the grantor has requested the following alternative to a CPA review or audit:

“We can accept a copy of your organization’s financial statements (let’s go with a timeframe of the last 12 to 18 months), along with a letter from an accountant saying they reviewed your financial statements.”

We are not seeking an audit or a formal CPA review engagement.

Our organization has straightforward finances:

• One checking account
• One organizational credit card
• 77 total transactions during the review period (July 2025 through July 2026)

We have already downloaded all bank and credit card statements and categorized every transaction in Excel for the review period. We are looking for an accountant who would be willing to review those materials and provide a brief letter stating that they reviewed the financial statements, consistent with the grantor’s request.

This is a one-time volunteer opportunity with no ongoing bookkeeping, tax, or board service commitment.
